....... what you want, OTOH, is point moOde to a network share on a NAS or a computer in your network, and that can be achieved by "m" => Configure => Library, then pressing the button [create] Music source.
From there you can also scan the network for shares detection.

Thanks Al.....but confusion still rife for me!
I've done "m" => Configure => Library, then pressing the button [create] Music source.
....and created 3 Music sources ....those being my drives that are local to the Pi.

All 3 can be seen in My PC.....but can't be written to.
