No. as user/password as the credentials required when you connect to the share from your windows PC.

I kindly ask you IF YOU CAN TRY to use root / moodeaudio. Not what you have done, or think it is obvious.

Hi Al....perhaps I'm giving the wrong impression here!
When initially asked to put in credentials...yesterday....I used pi/moodeaudio because that was all I had.

So....I'm to use  root/moodeaudio as user/password combination....right, I get that now.
Problem now is.....that I'm not being offerred the chance to input new credentials as you've suggested.
How can I make the PC forget credentials...and ask me for new ones?
