Would seem to suggest the second one failing may have something to do with disallowed characters in naming or case-sensitive naming errors.
Swap the configured uSD-cards between the 2 Pi and that should rule out hardware (such as dac) if the problem moves to the other Pi.
If the problem stays with the errant Pi then you need to check hardware, connections, power etc.

The names are simple ascii names , QNAP and Fileserve.
Both pis are working perfectly in every respect except for the server connection. The one that connects has an i2s Allo Boss dac, and the one that fails to connect is using a Schiit Modi usb dac. Everything is on the same lan, 192,168.1.x.
