I agree. I've already committed the improvement. Basically the Welcome notification has a separate show/hide flag, a dedicated close button and the clipping and width is fixed for landscape and ultra wide modes.
What the separate flag means is that after an in-place update only the Welcome notification will appear and not the other first-use help coupons.
If you have multiple instances of a given moode player open in Browsers then closing it on one and Menu > Refresh on the others should be all thats needed. For locally attached screens you can also do Restart from the Peripheral config screen.
