So far I'm stuck at square one - I haven't succeeded in getting the local display to work.  But I will do some searches here to see if someone already has the answer for me, and if not I'll try to find the right place to post a question.

Hi Jim, and welcome aboard.

To do that you need to first connect with your browser (and point it to moode.local, or whatever you have chosen as the player's name; or its IP address), then click "m" => Configure => Peripherals, and enable Local Display.
Then reboot your moOde box and you're done.

Thank you!  I'm sure it is that easy for some.  Maybe my display is quirky.  It is a generic 1024x600 7" display that claims to be for the Raspberry Pi and claims not to need any special driver.  It looks just like a dozen other displays, front and back, that are sold on Amazon.

For most of the first dozen or so times that I tried it, it mostly gave me a blank white screen, fully lit, no text or graphics whatsoever.  It did the same thing this time, but after several restarts, it is suddenly giving me a full display (showing the icon view of all of the built-in radio streams).  I'm hesitant to predict what will happen the next time I restart it, but this result does give me some hope.

I am finding that the system responds very slowly.  If I click a choice on the display, it sometimes takes a minute or more to respond.  My assumption is that it is busy scanning the music on the USB drive that I have plugged in, but I don't know enough to feel confident in this assumption.

I'll keep tinkering with it and see what I can learn.

Thanks again for your help!

Jim

PS - maybe that is the explanation for my local display problems, too. If the system is that busy, it might take a while to fully render the display. If I find that I need to start again from scratch, I will do it without the USB drive until I get the system configured.
