As I understand the posts on the thread I referenced, it is possible to run pi-hole and moOde on the same RPi if you insist. You have to change the port the pi-hole webserver is using from 80 (which moOde's webserver uses) to something else, like 8080. I think that's all you need to do. However, if moOde isn't working for some other reason than pi-hole has usurped its webserver port, then you'll have to seek help elsewhere.
My personal solution would be to reinstall moOde and not install pi-hole over it. I don't understand the argument that a second RPi + PS is a waste of resource. I would run dietpi on a second RPi and use it to install pi-hole and whatever else I wanted from that distro...maybe a print server for my laser printer, maybe octoprint for my 3D printer, yada yada yada. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
