Yet to confirm if this would work but using a Pi, stock Raspbian,Audacity, the ADC (which has switchable gain and may be suitable for direct connection to a turntable) and a usb hard-drive it may be possible for very little outlay to record LPs.
The files would need to have riaa correction run either on the Pi if it proved capable or on your desktop machine.

Maybe sb knows about a MM preamp Pi-Hat ... however I have contacted HiFiBerry asking if the turntable can be connected direct to the analog input.
As mentioned in my previous post I have no idea which quality the "out" signal of my pre-amp has. If that would be ok I could connect the Pi to this signal and record my collection.
