I don't understand what you mean by "the other card". The Suptronics X400 entry in moOde's I2S device database is coded to configure the IQaudIO Pi DAC+ driver for the device.

Now it picks up the card, has the same driver/"named device"
I dont get the error with radio or the test file.. and it still doesnt make a peep. I think I'm ready to give up on it.. thanks for the help.. re-assuring me that i've done over & above what should work. pi@moode:~ $ moodeutl -l 20210502 185128 worker: -- Start 20210502 185129 worker: Successfully daemonized 20210502 185129 worker: Integrity check (passed) 20210502 185129 worker: File check (OK) 20210502 185131 worker: Session vacuumed 20210502 185131 worker: Session loaded 20210502 185131 worker: Debug logging (OFF) 20210502 185131 worker: -- Audio debug 20210502 185131 worker: ALSA cards: (0:IQaudIODAC | 1:empty | 2:empty | 3:empty 20210502 185131 worker: MPD config: (0:IQaudIO Pi-DAC | mixer ![]() 20210502 185131 worker: ALSA mixer actual (Digital) 20210502 185131 worker: ALSA Digital volume set to (0%) 20210502 185131 worker: -- System 20210502 185133 worker: Host (moode) 20210502 185133 worker: moOde (7.2.0 2021-04-24) 20210502 185133 worker: RaspiOS (10.6) 20210502 185133 worker: Kernel (5.4.77-v7+ #1371) 20210502 185133 worker: Platform (Pi-3B 1.2 1GB) 20210502 185133 worker: ARM arch (armv7l, 32-bit kernel) 20210502 185133 worker: MPD ver (0.22.6_p0x3) 20210502 185133 worker: CPU gov (ondemand) 20210502 185134 worker: USB boot not enabled yet 20210502 185134 worker: File system expanded 20210502 185134 worker: HDMI port on 20210502 185134 worker: -- Network 20210502 185134 worker: eth0 exists 20210502 185134 worker: eth0 wait 0 for IP address 20210502 185137 worker: eth0 wait 1 for IP address 20210502 185140 worker: eth0 wait 2 for IP address 20210502 185143 worker: eth0 wait 3 for IP address 20210502 185146 worker: eth0 wait 4 for IP address 20210502 185202 worker: eth0 address not assigned 20210502 185202 worker: wlan0 exists 20210502 185202 worker: wifi country (US) 20210502 185202 worker: wlan0 trying SSID (Springfield3) 20210502 185202 worker: IP addr (10.0.0.240) 20210502 185202 worker: Netmask (255.255.255.0) 20210502 185202 worker: Gateway (10.0.0.1) 20210502 185202 worker: Pri DNS (10.0.0.1) 20210502 185202 worker: Domain (None) 20210502 185202 worker: Pi integrated wlan0 power save disabled 20210502 185202 worker: -- Audio config 20210502 185203 worker: MPD conf updated 20210502 185203 worker: ALSA card number (0) 20210502 185203 worker: MPD audio output (IQaudIO Pi-DAC) 20210502 185203 worker: Audio formats (S16_LE, S24_LE, S32_LE) 20210502 185203 worker: ALSA mixer name (Digital) 20210502 185203 worker: MPD volume control (software) 20210502 185203 worker: Hdwr volume controller exists 20210502 185203 worker: Max ALSA volume (100%) 20210502 185203 worker: ALSA loopback (Off) 20210502 185203 worker: Reset renderer active flags 20210502 185203 worker: CamillaDSP (off) 20210502 185203 worker: -- MPD startup 20210502 185203 worker: MPD started 20210502 185204 worker: MPD accepting connections 20210502 185204 worker: MPD output 1 ALSA Default (on) 20210502 185204 worker: MPD output 2 ALSA Bluetooth (off) 20210502 185204 worker: MPD output 3 HTTP Server (off) 20210502 185204 worker: MPD crossfade (off) 20210502 185204 worker: MPD ignore CUE files (yes) 20210502 185204 worker: -- Feature availability 20210502 185204 worker: Source select (available) 20210502 185204 worker: Source select (source: MPD) 20210502 185204 worker: Source select (output: IQaudIO Pi-DAC) 20210502 185209 worker: Bluetooth (available: started) 20210502 185209 worker: Airplay renderer (available) 20210502 185209 worker: Spotify renderer (available) 20210502 185209 worker: Squeezelite (available) 20210502 185209 worker: RoonBridge renderer (not installed) 20210502 185209 worker: UPnP renderer (available) 20210502 185209 worker: DLNA server (available) 20210502 185209 worker: UPnP browser (available) 20210502 185209 worker: GPIO button handler (available) 20210502 185209 worker: Stream recorder (n/a) 20210502 185209 worker: -- Music sources 20210502 185209 worker: USB sources (none attached) 20210502 185209 worker: NAS and UPnP sources (none configured) 20210502 185209 worker: -- Other 20210502 185209 worker: USB volume knob (Off) 20210502 185209 worker: Shellinabox SSH started 20210502 185209 worker: USB auto-mounter (udisks-glue) 20210502 185209 worker: LED0 (On) 20210502 185209 worker: LED1 (On) 20210502 185209 worker: Saved MPD vol level (0) 20210502 185209 worker: Preamp volume level (0) 20210502 185209 worker: MPD volume level (0) restored 20210502 185209 worker: ALSA Digital volume (100%) 20210502 185209 worker: Auto-play (Off) 20210502 185209 worker: LocalUI started 20210502 185209 worker: Maintenance interval (3 hours) 20210502 185209 worker: Screen saver activation (Never) 20210502 185209 worker: Session permissions (OK) 20210502 185209 worker: Watchdog started 20210502 185209 worker: Ready

Other card in that I complained to Geekworm (the vendor) & they couldnt get it to work so they sent a replacement.. now I have 2 identical Suptronics X400's. I think they probably have 2 different problems.

The last log shows "IQaudIO Pi-DAC" was selected from the I2S device list which won't work for this device. You should select "Suptronics X400".
In any case good luck :-)

Make sure you have the physical jumpers on the x400 board set correctly.
I noticed Suptronics x400 https://wiki.geekworm.com/X400 was taken off the standard config list for Moode. Searching the archives I found this thread so thought it was the right place to see if an alternative config is available.
No worries, change is constant. Any suggestions for a replacement config? I have lots of these running off older Rpi's, newer Rpi's and zero w's. Thanks in advance. energyi

I thought this board used the IQaudio DAC+ driver?

With a little effort one could feed all his posts from this forum (and the old diyaudio thread) into a LLM to create a Tim bot. Might have to tweak the interface a bit to make it as nice as Tim ![]() Regards, Kent |
