One challenge is that when metadata is not correct after auto-ripping or when playing a CD then there is no way to correct it.

Thats a big gap to fill...

It would be nice to display metadata during playback, but for 30 years I had only a CD track number and elapsed time display on my CD players to stare at.

Ripping is a whole 'nuther subject. We'll see how it works out for those who want it.

For me, it's a divertissement just to see how it works

No, but listening to the BBC radio episodes now, thanks to archive.org. May take a little longer to find a streaming video source.
