I don't see anything suspicious in the log. It's not obvious to me what might be happening that would cause the permission error you are seeing in the MPD log.

Maybe try adjusting permission settings on the NAS to see if that allows access.

Strange that NFS stopped working despite no change on the NAS side (no update, no change in settings)

Hello,
I can't update the library either, after the latest update.

The source for the library is a remote SAMBA filesystem.

It was working flawlessly on the last major Release 8.3.9.

After a fresh install to version 9.x.x, the library update problem occurred several times..

Which was solved by clearing the cache and regenerating the library. Sometimes the process got stuck, which a RPI restart would "fix".

Currently initiating a library update, the progress spinner never stops, and as a result, the library is empty (only one folder from SAMBA drive is displayed (A-J), and the content is empty).

On other clients, accessing the SAMA filesystem works without any problems.

Please advice, what steps are needed to collect symptoms for analysis?

The MPD database is not a sqlite database. It's a custom database format maintained by the MPD dev, and there is no documentation on it.

Just realised that library DB (/var/lib/mpd/database) is a gzip archive.

I have compared it with the old one from 8.3.9.

In the new one, there is only "directory: RADIO" with the Radio station list and "directory: SDCARD"

In the old one, there is a complete list with all directories (e.g. directory: NAS, ...)

The progress spinner never stops, even after a reboot.

Is there a limit to how large a database can be, i.e. how many rows?

The old one has 61198 rows.

I have added more files to the SAMBA share.

Is it possible to stop it, reset DB, start again, initiate an update and debug it?

I even tried a fresh install of the image, and only with the SAMBa configuration (no other adjustments) - the result is almost the same.

Only the test file is visible in the Library.
