Interesting addition.. a hat that does src and up-sampling to dsd options.
Raspi-4137 Raspberry Pi Digital Network Player Supports 32bit 384K DSD256 | eBay

There have been discussions in this thread as to the advantages of feeding ESS90xx dacs with dsd data.
ES9038Q2M Board

This board does on the fly conversion so no need to store huge files and i2s output so no usb to i2s needed.
Uses hifiberry driver.. I'm guessing sda/scl gpio used so may curtail other i2c devices such as displays ?

Alternative stand alone version...

Interesting indeed, does anyone use it with Moode? Worth to buy?

It seems there are two versions of it:

2. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Lusya-Ra...26442.html

Both boards look the same to me.... the second just has some lands populated and the selector jumpers in place .

I don't have this board but do use the stand alone version below... it has a display that I find helpful but once initial settings are made the display is not needed.

After many extensives test, I can say that I do not like SRC's and DSP, and everything that kills the lossless principle.
But I'm not against synchronous interpolation.

I respect your findings but can you be specific on your listening tests, please?

These AK4137 boards were used here for PCM to DSD conversion.

Does anyone know how well these work to clean up jitter on I2S?

According to the description "The main function of this board is to improve the quality of the Raspberry Pi I2S signal and reduce jitter."
