Allo USBridge Signature

I´m not sure if I understood it correctly, is there still the problem with the kernel or has it been solved in the mean time??
I just bought the Allo USBridge sign. and running Max2play with squezzebox and Tidal as a first try and getting the clicks!!!
Wondering if I swap to moOde if I get rid of the clicks and better sound quality.
Can somebody help and advice?
Thx...Manni
You can either download the older version 5  of moOde from the Allo website that uses an older kernel
OR
You can stick with the latest version of moOde and change the governor setting from "on demand" to "performance".
Both work for me with Qutest.

Thanks, have tried it today and with the "performance" settings it worked without any ticks.

Hi all, new to MoOde and just bought an Allo USBridge Signature. I've 2 queries.
1) I'm facing issues on DSD playback - music stops inbetween.. (both network files as well as local USB drive has issues)-
2) Which method is better? - music files palyback from local connected USB/HDD/SSD to USBridge Signatre.. or calling files from network drive/network computer with minim server/ or some music server running..

my dac: Chord 2Qute

Many thanks!

For this issue "I'm facing issues on DSD playback - music stops inbetween.."

What kind of DSD files?
What exactly do you mean by "stops inbetween.."?

Which moOde? Allo's or the official moOde from moodeaudio.org?

Thanks Tim for responding to my quieries.
I'm trying to play back DSD64 files; attached the screenshot.
'stops inbetween' - means music stopping for a moment or two then continue playing - in one song i'm getting atleaset 3-4 such stops. Looks like some speed issue somewhere.
MoOde - i downloaded latest version from moodeaudio.org.
-----------------------------------
player: MoOde - latest version 6.4.2
CPU governor set to 'Performance'
Music buffer: 4096; - default minimum size (i tried increasing this to 8MB/16 and max, but issues still there) - getting less stops/breaks in this minimum 4MB buffer.
I'm yet to test with a differnt USB stick/ hard drive. - I hope connecting an external SSD would solve this issue.
Network play: USBridge Sig is connected to LAN, but the switch is a basic one which my broadband ISP provided - not sure about any limitation on LAN bandwidth.
DSD over PCM = 'Yes' (I'm getting full res DSD only via this DoP route.
my DAC: Chord 2Qute

---------------------------------------------------
Also would like to know which route is better:
1) music played from direct USB/HDD/SSD connected to Allo USBridge Signature
2) music played from a network storage, or music/file server like minimserver installed in my computer and calling files via upnp - bubble upnp is the one i'm in.
which of this method is good / advisable..

Many thanks!
Noble

I think your best bet at troubleshooting will be if someone with your particular DAC and a similar configuration can reproduce your issue.

Your other questions about storage, etc should be placed in a separate thread.

I have given up with DSD some time ago, since there is no audible benefit for my "hearing" and no music (I like) available.
I did always get similar (DSD) sound signature on my Chord Mojo when I upsampled a redbook 16/44 file 24/384 with Audirvana 3+.
It sounds more "airy" and "lighter", which I did not like always and and with all songs. It did only "sound" nice with "audiophile" songs.

However, I can try to simulate your situation, but only with my Mojo dac.
Would need to download some DSD files, since I have deleted them all in the past.
Let me know, if you are still interested.

In terms of direct attached storage (USB, HDD, SSD) or network (NAS) I`m having the problem that I can access the music on my Synology DS NAS, but I have not found a method to import my "intelligent" iTunes playlists yet. And with more than 30.000 titles it is no fun to search without these playlists.

With Audirvana it is no issue to import these playlists, but with MConnect and moOde I have not found a solution yet.
Maybe someone can help ???
However, to my ears streaming from Tidal with flac is at least equal to playback from my NAS.... and searching in Tidal is faster than via my network on NAS.

If playing from a USB stick is better, I have not tried yet. But it is an additional power-load to the system.
May depend what kind of power supply you are using.
I use the shanti power supply and it seems to be quite good, however it reacts to different power cords as sensitive as all other components.

Tim, how can I do this from my MacBookPro?

I have found this in the www:

"for IOS devices, use Terminal and it works like this:

the User is = pi,
the password is = raspberry

so the code is:

ssh pi@mode.local

when asked for the password

password: raspberry

is this correct??

Thx for your help.
