Solved: EQ settings
#1
I was fiddling around with the graphic equalizer. I noticed 2 odd things:

1) There's no pre-gain.  This is rather unusual - you often need to compensate globally for boosts in a given frequency band.
2) The range for each band is 28 to 94.   Odd - what are the units here?  Ideally they'll be a biased range like -20 -> +20 in steps of 0.1dB

The graphic eq is just a UI on top of the alsamixer app and so it reflects only it's capabilities and volume units/scale, which are indeed strange.

I'll leave it up to you to search for info on alsamixer and its oddness. IIRC there is a page somewhere in the archlinux archives that sort of explains how alsamixer volume units work.

Ugh.  It was literally my dislike of fiddling around with alsamixer - and trying to get parametric EQ working - on a standard Raspberry Pi which led me using moOde in the first place!  I'll stick to PEQ!

Cheers!
