Updating Software
#1
Please be aware that when a version is updated the music database is retained, but the 'sticker.sql' database is overwritten.

So remember to back up before updating.

Big Grin
And what does sticker.sql do?

And as I did not back up any of my four - oops - what will I have to rebuild afterwards?

moOde doesn't use the sticker database but if there is a usage scenario that would be benefitted by having the sticker database included in the System backup then let me know.

I seem to remember that it is a way to "like" tracks, something in the line of 1-5-stars. Don't trust me too much, thou'...

I use the sticker database to record the amount of plays each track has and the rating of each track.

It would be great it this database could be included in the backup.

I've written a python program that controls the playback and playlists. The sticker information is applied to each file, but i also save it in the tracks metadata.

Thats cool.

One thing with play counts, ratings etc is there is also a need to do something with the data like sort/group/search etc. Are you doing something like that?

ETA: There was a thread by @cprogrammer discussing the sticker db.

Hi Tim,

Like most programs this has grown over time.

I can make playlists or random playlists based on 'rating' or 'plays' and any other data (date, genre etc).
Playlist can also be sorted by any criteria.

I call your script to update the complete library. Which works fine.
Calling your script with the folder name does not seem to work.
Is there another way to just update a folder externally?

Many thanks,

Clive
