I have some questions:
- Did you follow the procedure reported on this GITHUB?
- Does the test on the point 2 run (a couple of bar moving on the putty screen)?
- Would you please provide some additional infoes about the 5 inch waveshare lcd display?
Code:
tvservice -l
tvservice -s -v 0
tvservice -s -v 2
- Would you please show the "/etc/alsa/conf.d/_sndaloop.conf"? - Would you please show the "config.txt" in the PeppyMeter directory?
Best regards and thanks,
Francesco
P.S.: all this, after the test just suggested by Tim!
Looking toward moOde 9.0.0, tvservice is not available in Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm. The whole /opt/vc directory is gone. Just a gentle reminder

Hi satlover3,
let us focus on the first step: the test has to be running if we want the PeppyMeter is displayed; it looks like the loopback is not enabled: would you please check on
Menu
Configure
Audio
Alsa Options
Loopback.
If the system is still not running, could you please show the remaining part of the "/etc/alsa/conf.d/_sndaloop.conf"?
Best regards,
Francesco

Of course the problem is on loopback. As i said i used in the past the 8.2.0 (whitch now i can't find as .img and i don't know a way to flash it again)the loopback had on off and then set bouton, now only on -off,i think i read somewhere else ,user who also have problems with alsa on newest moodeaudio version when loopback is on.I am sure that i follow exactly the nistructions of github as i did before with 8.2.o same system and worked perfectly with autostart script .i will upload my config.txt to see it.
Of course i thank you and Tim for interesting and help, hope we will find the solution
oh my god! i made a silly mistake
i wrote hw:pippopeppy,0 not only pippopeppy!
finaly works
tomorrow i will try the autostart
thank you and sorryyyyyyyyyy!
@fdealexa i've a rpi4 4gb ,Topping E30II usb dac and a wavewshare display 11.9" 1480x320 https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/11.9inch_Touch_Monitor ,moode 8.3.9. I think i've correctly installed peppyalsa on terminal during music performing i see two bars moving for L&R channels and i hear regularry music from all sources including spotify) and peppymeter (i hope) but during performing music and giving command
Code:
cd /home/pi/PeppyMeter
sudo python3 peppymeter.py
my display starsts and i see only the backgrounds but needles don't move.
Where is my mistake, anysolution ?
I create via ssh a new folder "1480x320_Gelo5 01-20 Skins" where i put the right resolution templates for my display, from another peppymeter for an alternative music_Os, to use here on moode.
I add my startup.log
