As 9.0.1 was a new install on a different sd card, the images folder would have been empty when I first built the library?

Yes, it would.
Anyway, you can achieve the same result by regenerating it.
(updating the library fires a thumbnail update, which checks all the files again and takes time, so I usually clear everything if I need to have freah new thumbs...)

Solved!!  Big Grin

After noticing that Nutul and The Old Presbyope were adding this album to an existing library with success I thought I would try something I can't have tried before.
I removed the offending album from the folder containing all my music so Moode couldn't see it, cleared the thumbnails and rebuilt the library.
Steal This Album! still appeared in the library! But it only contained one song.
I eventually found a folder titled replaygain, which had a copy of this song in it. I really have no idea how this happened.
I removed the replaygain folder, added Steal This Album! back into its appropriate folder and updated the library.
Voila!!

Thanks for the help guys, I doubt I would have gone down this track without having this discussion.
