SD Card or SSD?
#1
Hi,
I have a 1GB SSD for my Moode setup. SD card prices have fallen over the years and capacity has risen, to the point I'm thinking of switching to a SD card at some point. There's a certain appeal in having one less bit of hardware on the shelf.

Does anyone know of any pros or cons that I should be aware of? Access speeds, longevity, power supply requirements etc?

I suppose I'd have to copy over the music files again if there was a major software update?

Thanks,
Nick

Your best bet is to keep the boot media separate from the the media used to store your music collection, just like on any other server. This allows you to install new OS images if desired and not have to copy over all your music files again. Use Surveillance-grade uSD Cards for the OS for example WD Purple QD101.
Enjoy the Music!

Thanks Tim, good advice. I'll stick with what I've got then.
