Problem: CUE + Monkey Audio files
#1
Hello,

I have a few albums that are encoded as a single Monkey Audio file (APE) and with a CUE file that includes the metadata information, including the time positions of each song in the single APE file.

I have noticed that if I go to the Album view of the library these albums appear, but appear with a broken image thumbnail and the individual songs are not shown. Also, if I click on the three dots and try to reproduce the album it does not start. However, if I go to the Folder view of the library, then when I enter the folder that contains the album all the songs appear, i.e. the CUE file is correctly read and intrepreted. Also, if I play the Album the correct thumbnail appears in the reproduction screen and the album plays successfully, I can even play the individual songs.

Is this the expected behaviour? Or the Album view should show the album and associated songs?

Thank you!
Jordi.

Try Preferences > Cover Art > Audio formats

Here's the help

Audio formats
Specify which audio formats are scanned by the Thumbnail generator. Selecting "Default" can result in a faster scan.
Default: aac, aiff, dff, dsf, flac, m4a, mp3, mp4, ogg, wav and wv.
All: All audio formats listed in the output of the MPD -V command.
Plus: The + option adds image types jpg/jpeg, png, tif/tiff to the scan which enables thumbnails to be generated for images in parent folders of the Album folder for example Artist or CD box set images.
Note that incorrect thumbnails may appear in the Library if the Album folder also contains image files and "Cover search priority" is set to Embedded.

Hello Tim,

This solved the thumbnail part of the problem. But still, if I click on the album nothing happens (usually in my system should show the songs and provide the possibility to play it). From the Album view in my case it is not possible to play these albums. From the folder view yes.

Best,
Jordi

Zip up one of the albums and PM myself, @Nutul and @TheOldPresbyope a download link. IIRC only cue/flac and cue/wav are handled in Tag/Album views but best to examine the code with a test album.

You can also open the .CUE file (it is a text file...) and see if within the first lines, at the FILE entry, the monkey audio file name is correct.
IIRC MPD parses the CUE, creates a library entry, but at the moment of playing the file, of course, it doesn't find it...
Did you perhaps rename the files?

I have sent you the test file. The CUE is correct because I have checked it and because in Folder mode I get all the songs listed and working.

That is interesting. In my case, in the Tag view that you used does not even appear the Album. While in the Album view appears, but if you click on it nothing happens.

I will update Moode to the last version, I have 9.0.2 I think, but I guess there are not changes that might produce this up to 9.0.4, right?

Tag and Album views haven't been touched in quite a while.
Be sure to Regenerate the Music database in Library Config. This will regen the MPD database, clear the tag cache and regen the thumbnails.

I have done it many many times and it always happens the same.

Now I have checked the debug console from the development tools of the browser and it seems an error is produced when I click in this particular album (see attached screenshot). In the other regular albums the error is not produced.
