Problem: What does Bluetooth do on Moode?

@foxwelljsly

My 9.2.3 system configuration is pretty much bog standard. The only thing I've done is define some sources and enabled most of the renderers.

With the Bluetooth renderer enabled (no PIN 'cuz my Pixel 6a expects a 4-digit PIN), I can connect from my Pixel 6a [1], at which point the Source format reported in the Audio info popup is "aptX-HD". If I connect instead from my iPad, the source format reported in the Audio info popup is "SBC". This before I start a music app in either device and start it playing over Bluetooth to moOde.

Your screenshot, on the other hand, shows the Source format reported is "Unknown". This is suspicious.

Sorry, I don't have any more time to spend on moOde. Seems "I forgot" to file some important paperwork at the start of the year and have some groundwork to make up in a hurry. I hope someone else picks up your issue.

Regards,
kent

[1] Note that I initiate the pairing and connection from the phone's Bluetooth controls. No need to fuss with moODe's Bluetooth control screen. Just saying...

Hi Tim, 8.3.9

System software update says software is up to date.

thanks

8.3.9 is a few revisions ago now.  The check for upgrade feature does not work over a major boundary, so since we are on the 9 series now you won't see updates.
I suggest getting the latest version by creating a new image from the Pi Imager tool.  Be sure to follow the setup guide so you set a user for the system in the imager.  Perhaps just building afresh will sort your issue out, but if not you'll be on the same version as us so trouble shooting may be simpler.
