Some issues (moode and peppymeter)
#1
I am trying to setup a hi-end streamer using Moode audio and a raspberry pi4, with iancanada fifopi q7, upgraded Accusilicon OCXO's (90 and 98 MHz), and HDMIPI ProII interface (only I2S) that I want to use with Rockna Wavelight DAC.
Until now I have configured the raspberry pi, and moode.
1. I still cannot play DSD1024 files, but everything else plays fine.
2. The only problem is that the display shows only PCM rates, not the file type (DSD, FLAC, etc) - not sure if it can.
3. Also I have installed a Waveshare 7.9 DSI display that works corectly, but still needs a brightness setting after each reboot - not so bothering issue.
4. I would like to install peppymeter with the VU-meters in screensaver mode. It starts but the needles don`t move. I have tested the Land R lines (like in the instructions) and the lines move.
5. I have noticed that in the github the indications were for some directories that are not on the pi "/home/pi/". I have lately discovered that when I have modified the username (in installation), everything is in the directory called "/home/<install name>/". Is there an issue there? Should I test the whole installation with PI as username?
6. I would like to start and stop the VU-meters also from a soft/hard button if possible - chatgpt gave me a piece of code but haven't tested yet.
Thank you in advance for every piece of advice.

I'm not going to address any of your display and PeppyMeter concerns.

As for

I don't know what you mean by "indications". The /home/pi directory in the github repo is merely a placeholder directory. As part of moOde's configuration process during the first boot of a fresh install, the home directory gets renamed (or not) as appropriate. No need to test with anything but the credentials you set in the RPi Imager program.

I have noticed that when I used another user name in preparing the sd card (I used “mvictor”), the directory /home/pi/ became “/home/mvictor/“, so I noticed that all the modifications for installing PeppyMeter were to be modified accordingly. I was wondering if maybe on the original installation there are some references for “/home/pi/“ instead of the new “/home/mvictor/“.

The "maintainer" of peppymeters in moOde could be your best choice.

Hello Victor,
As Al already wrote, would you please address your issues on the thread related to Peppymeter? Please show (there) the config.txt (in the Peppymeter directory).
Best regards,
Francesco

Thank you for your reply. I will surely post on the peppymeter thread, maybe this weekend when I hope to have some time for test.
