Solved: Not working on new Pi4B
#1
Just bought a new Pi 4B 2GB. Moode wont run.
After hooking up a monitor I got the message "This board requires newer software". I use the latest moode version.
The ethernet leds show a negotiated network speed of 1Gbps. In the router there is no entry of an IP address.

Anybody having a clue what's going on?

P.S. I'm using moode on a Pi 3B for over a year and that runs very good Smile

So this problem is solved in moode 8. Any idea when this is coming?

Do I have to wait for this new version or does anyone know a way to circumvent this?

Over at the volumio forums someone got it to boot by copying "16 files (fixup*.dat and start*.elf) over from latest raspbian onto volumio".

I suppose one could try something similar with moode 7 to see if it worked for revision 1.5.

Thank you for this workaround, but I prefer to wait for MoOde 8 which is coming very soon (this month???)

I used a trick.
Since I still have an older PI 4 with Moodeaudio, I did an rpi update with SSH. The command is: sudo rpi-update
With this it installed the new 5.15 kernel it needs for the new rev. 1.5.
Then just put the memory card into the new Raspberry 4 and lo and behold it boots and runs fine.

I can confirm that moOde 8.0.0 is working fine on 4B hardware revision 1.5 Wink

Thanks a lot Tim
