How to configure Moode with the DENON DNP-800NE?
#1
Hi,

I use IQ Audio DAC hat with rpi4. Playback music from USB SSD.

How would I configure rpi4 so the Denon will detect and playback
from the rpi4?

The Denon and RPI4 will have ethernet connect or WiFi, not sure yet.

What I’m not sure is using Denon or Moode to Navigate and playback
the songs.

Thanks

The Denon probably has some audio inputs for example USB or S/PDIF. You can connect Pi USB directly to Denon and then select it in moOde MPD Config. If the Denon is not recognized then an alternative would be to use a S/PDIF I2S board like an Allo DigiOne and connect it to Denon S/PDIF input.
Enjoy the Music!

Thank you Tim. :-)

The Denon has only a USB A port to add a USB storage for playback. There is no USB B port.

The Denon has only USB A, Optical and Ethernet port.

So only way is ethernet to RPI4. Can I still use Moode in this case?

Not possible. You would have to use the Optical input port on the Denon.

Thanks Tim.

I ordered the Hifiberry Digi2 Pro to try.
Hope it is pretty good for optical output.

Hhmmmm DENON DNP-800NE is a network audio player with optical output, optical INPUT port is required.

You are quite correct...no spdif in so @Taki8888 will not be able to connect the Hifiberry Digi Pro.
Seems the Denon is lacking in  physical inputs other than network streaming.

Perhaps then turning on the Moode HTTP streamer would work ?

M>Configure>Audio>MPD Options> HTTP streaming    (Change Lame to Flac) and see if the Denon picks it up ?
