Yes, we always need to do this...

If not, the sound is by far too low...

But what surprises me most is that I no longer see the Airplay 1/Airplay 2 selection

From the 8.3.7 release notes:

Code:
- UPD: Remove unreliable AirPlay protocol switcher (only AirPlay 2 supported)

Ahhh,

So, I think I'll switch back to 8.3.6.

I upgraded my old Air from Mojave to Big Sur (11.7.10) and no probs with Youtube, Amazon Music etc to moOde Airplay 2 using the OS system volume to select the Airplay target.

Alas, I can't: I need old apps that don't work on Big Sur.

I think my best option would be to have a 2nd computer with a recent macOs, or a recent iPad.

But maybe it would nevertheless be possible to (re)build the Airplay 1 functionality (although I think that would be beyond my skills).

I still fail to understand what makes your system differently behave from what Tim can achieve - quoting him:

"I have a 10 year old Air running Mojave (10.14.6) and no probs playing to moOde Airplay 2 from iTunes."

which is the same version of MacOS you appear to have. What is it, you use something else than iTunes? Proprietary, non-upgradable software?
Not trying to diminish your needs, just trying to understand... if it's possible for some, it should be possible for all...

The issue on Mojave is that OS level Airplay (from the system volume icon) does not work to Airplay 2 receivers. iTunes with its built in Airplay service works fine though.

Bump to Big Sur and then OS level Airplay will work to Airplay 2 receivers but @yannig is not able to upgrade due to dependence on some old Mojave-only apps.

I'm late to the party here but had one of my pi-zero W' lose its mind so I had to reflash the card. I put 8.3.9 on it and I also can no longer use my Windows 10 PC as a iTunes music server.

Did I read this thread correctly? Do I just need to drop back a few versions of Moode and it will work? 8.3.6?

Thanks

Oh yea, where would I find it?
